GYS bought lunch at beach road kitchen ..$38pax with jwmarriott card…
a lot of food but so so quality quite mediocre …
best dish for me was the chilli crab…sauce & bun good..crab acceptable quality
the charcuterie platter was ok NOT basilico antipasti quality cured meat & cheese
salad standard fare bread basket better than average the panini was good..
white wine mussels very poorly done overcooked shrunken not fresh succulent…1 of 2 worst dishes…
lobster bisque good standard with lobster pieces NOT 665 deg standard
lobster laksa pasta a disaster – among the worst pasta I had… & lobster was old & overcooked tough & tasteless..not sure this worst dish or the mussels…lol!
the shell pasta was passable better than the lobster which was inedible
tried the truffle pizza way way below par chewy & tough nothing like akira back
chicken was competent better than expected..
yogurt dessert was pretty good like breakfast cereal lol! good for breakfast not sure count as dessert..haha!
so I count 3 good dishes-chilli crab, lobster bisque and chicken…that’s about it!
had excellent 6pax family dinner with brother, SIL & Chuan @ 8picure on 2.2.2021.^^
always enjoyed our meals and good chat with chef gabriel at 8picure.
the dish I like best here is the lobster squid ink pasta. lobster was fresh, sweet, perfect texture and pasta al dente and had really tasty prawn bisque sauce and bits of peppers salsa. very good, love it every time.
this evening we had kumamoto wagyu, almost same as ohmi wagyu but I always partial to ohmi wagyu, and it was quite expensive at S$110++ per serving. we had 2 servings to share.
the other dishes were all great – the cod, Galician octopus very tender, and lamb was excellent. the tagliolini with ama ebi was delicious and the roast pork using spanish duroc was very good too, as always.
& chef gabriel’s tiramisu, the best I had.
my brother, sis and chuan enjoyed the dinner..we had a lovely time together.

WM bought 4pax lunch @ ming tang 重庆烤鱼- with OCH & ZHL on 2.2.2021.^^
excellent 重庆烤鱼 & 凉拌dishes..
very good value for money with eatigo 50% discounts at 11.30am…4pax came to $54.50nett. 🙂
we had the authority of ZHL from ganshu..he said all the 重庆烤鱼restaurants at chinatown too oily and not as tasty. anyway this was really good. 3rd time I been here
we also had the dumplings, 10 pieces 饺子very good!
口水鸡saliva chicken was tasty but not done in the smooth 白斩鸡way which nicer presentation texture and taste.
my own saliva chicken(口水鸡)
my own 口水鸡saliva chicken is better (above photo).

had lovely 8pax homegourmet dinner – with WM Jessie K and MY.. & SL..Wen joined later…
menu
wife’s amazing salad
tortilla aka spanish omelette
sautéed shimeji & king oyster mushrooms
grilled peppers and cauliflower
ika sugatayaki (grilled whole squid)
pangrilled halibut beurre blanc sauce
slow roast Australian prime ribs
peanut herb crusted rack of lamb
chorizo prawns tagliatelle
wife’s salad was amazing – with pumpkin, arugula, pine nuts toasted almond flakes, red onions, shaved parmesan cheese and what else…it’s becoming the best salad i had, better more luxurious than any in the restaurants..
sautéed mushrooms and grilled vegetables were good.
ika sugatayaki was perfect this evening, just the right texture, great taste and nice bbq flavours from flaming.
halibut was good, charred and tender inside. beurre blanc sauce was good.
chorizo prawns tagliatelle was nicely al dente and very tasty.
slow oven roast Australian prime ribs very tender (6hrs at 90degC and 10mins at 250degC) to perfection, nicely browned and marinade very tasty.
& lamb (18mins in 210degC oven) had little gamey taste, moist and tender, nicely medium rare…K & MY really enjoyed the dinner.
& jessie’s dessert was really refreshing..I had 2 bowls. 🙂
