after a nice beef brisket noodles treat at 联记面家, we had some nice kungfu tea 功夫茶 at our hotel room.
we were intending to take the fast ferry at 2.45pm to cheong chau. anyhow we decided to go earlier to central, so we took a walk along the mid-level travellators.
one of our first visiting place was tai cheong bakery 泰昌饼家 at lyndhurst terrace.
this the original shop set up in 1954. chris patten, the former hong kong governor, is a fan – famously proclaimed as his best egg tart ever. it is part of the tao heung group.
my friend bought some bean curd drinks also. that i think was not good, dilute & sweet.
the egg tarts 泰昌蛋挞 itself? quite good, quite consistent in quality, taste.
after that we walked along & came by mak’s noodles.
we were full so did not want to try.
then we psssed by the few daipaidong 大排档 at stanley street. don’t think will have opportunity to come by & try for this trip. anyway not a must do thing for me.
we followed the mid-level travellators towards IFC, and walked along the IFC Mall till the sign shows “to all ferries” & walked to the central ferry terminal 5 to catch the ferry to cheung chau island.
