went with a good friend to our OPS friend’s mom’s wake at singapore casket on 15.8.2016.
sadly…we now at the age where these things happen more frequently.
we had a good chat with this friend this time. though my primary school classmate did not spend much time together previously.
after that 2 of us walked over to kok kee wanton mee at lavender food hub @ zhuge liang at hoa nam building.
i like kok kee wanton mee best, better than the other places i tried.
but i have not tried this since they moved from lavender food square 2 years ago.
prices had gone up by S$0.50 to S$4.50 for small, S$5.50 for large.
though the bowl looked small, there were 2 wantons & quite a bit of char siew.
char siew is the standard wanton mee lean char siew. they were tender & tasty.
the best was still their special recipe sauce poured over the noodles. noodles were qq like all good noodle places & very tasty.
for me this is still the best la! ^^
friend also ordered the dumpling soup 水饺汤。 this was ok nothing special for me, S$6 for 6 dumplings i can do without.
next to kok kee is the former famous thomson overhead bridge fishball noodles. my friend wanted to try but they closed liao.
i still like this kok kee wanton mee best la!
