ngau lam meen 牛腩面 HK$32

finally got to eat the real thing – hong kong ngau lam meen 牛腩面.

what we had on Day 1, the 牛三宝=牛腩牛根牛肚 HK$38 at 牛棚 at fa yuen street, was good, but not enough shiok for me….

this morning actually we intended to have brunch at 鹅皇馆, but the roast goose was not ready at 10.15am, so we walked over to Kuen Kee Noodle 權記粉麵茶餐廳 at tonh choi street.

here looking at the ngau lam 牛腩, we decided we didn’t even need to have 牛根牛肚.

the ngau lam 牛腩 looked like 蹦沙腩(have 胶 or collagen), just what i wanted. so we decided to order just ngau lam meen 牛腩面.

so very satisfying.

after full day trip to shenzhen & a very good dinner at ,

WM & i were back at prince station. we decided to go to Hoi Kee Walnut Place 海記合桃坊甜品 to have something cold & to chill on 13.9.2017. ^^

hoi kee like always, had a good crowd of customers, but turnover is fast, so we got our seats with no waiting…

we were like the only foreigner here, maybe there was 1 table with koreans…

usually we would go for the paste. really it is the thing to take in hong kong as they do that very well every shop you go, whereas other not traditional dessert we get easily in singapore.

this evening though, we wanted a change so went for the more contemporary dessert.

thinking of the excellent 榴莲飘雪Durian Macha Dessert at Honeymoon Dessert 满记甜品,

i ordered the durian ice cream dessert 榴莲雪乐冰。

it was way off the 榴莲飘雪Durian Macha Dessert at Honeymoon Dessert 满记甜品 though.

i guess kind of expected. not their forte here so nice but just mediocre. durian is sweeter far less flavour c/w honeymoon dessert’s 榴莲飘雪.

lotus seeds with tao huay 莲子豆腐花

anyway tonight our last evening in hong kong before returning to singapore.

we wanted to chill a bit more & being greedy in ordered another  lotus seeds with tao huay 莲子豆腐花.

the lotus seeds were ok just not infused enough with syrup, the tau huay was very smooth. i think the sugar should be a syrup instead…

WM ordered his favourite 炖蛋. still nice too, almost like a sweet chawan mushi …this one really not my kind of dessert la…

final bill came to HK$120 after we added 炖蛋  & lotus seeds with tao huay 莲子豆腐花. 🙂

 after the wonderful braised pork noodles + pig oran soup at 东贝爱面科学馆outlet.

WW brought us to 华强北 to look at the electronic goods & accesories.

a huge place, and together with laojie 老街, felt like 10x what JB city square, KSL etc areas have to offer.

& unlike our causeway & second link, going across from hong kong to shenzhen is a breeze – a 45mins MTR ride on eastern rail 东铁线 from tsimshatsui to luohu, walk across the border immigration checkpoints & take the metro from shenzhen luohu station to the various places..

after lunch we had coffee i think at pacific coffee???

the tesla showroom was just at the other side of the square.

so we went to “kay poh” a bit…

RMB 740k, fraction of cost in singapore if tesla decided to drop by again after packing up some years back…

actually i didn’t think much of the shape & especially the interior, very average …

we didn’t buy other street food since we planning to go for a nice seafood dinner.

after DMD Food City东门町美食城, we took quite a long 20mins walk over to Baofa Restaurant 宝发食馆 Leyuan Road, where we had a very nice seafood dinner…eat to full la…
