did homecooked family 6pax korean dinner this evening on 25.1.2021.^^
daughter SM requested for kimchi chigger and kimchi fried rice after last week’s dinner, so did the dishes again for 6pax dinner -with wife, sm, jh, wen, sl….

kimchi chigger very good, and sm loved the kimchi fried rice, delicious, good wok hae…
galbi was perfection this evening…perfect texture…I slow roast 6hrs in 90degC oven then browned 10mins at 250degC…purrrfect!
super tender and flavourful!^^
made sure meat temperature was above 65degC after 6hrs slow roast and above 75degC after 10mins at 250degC super tender and flavourful
gochujang belly pork was new experiment…nothing much really, and can only be as good as gochujang dish can be…flavours quite standard…children liked it though especially jh…
YKK organised tour of eng wanton mee on 18.1.2021.^^
first we tried eng’s wanton noodle 287 tg katong rd
the gunpowder chilli really shiok..& the larpok too..both can add by yourself..
egg noodles was springy (though i still prefer hk stringy noodles) & taste very good with the chilli..
had the water chestnut drink ..quite sweet but nice ..I like…
afterwards crossed the road to try eng’s char siew wanton mee..
initial reception by the youngest sis not so friendly as she saw we came from the other stall
desmond ng the son came to talk to us & shared his story
overall 5 out of 6 myself included thinks eng’s wanton noodles just slightly better..
mainly becos the chilli more kick..& of course the convenience of helping yourself with chilli & larpok
the second bowl also slight disadvantage after we quite full from first bowl
but basically both equally good & we all quite happy to patronise eng’s char siew to support them
i had piccolo latte & others had charcoal latte flat white etc at 6 letter cafe..
not as good as tiong hoe at stifling road..somehow milk not well integrated into coffee don’t feel the microfoam & silky smooth texture flavours & coffee tasted more acidic
and also my son made better coffee with latte art! lol!
