had another really shiok, exquisite dinner with lisa @ 8picure on 28.9.2021.^^
every dish simply delicious! 🙂
and added Galician octopus, lobster squid ink pasta and ohmi A4 wagyu for 2pax sharing.
this new set was excellent!
hotate curry cauliflower gazpacho is new, and I recreate this several times myself…love the dish the combination of texture and delicious taste.
the crabmeat tagliolini was good…of course we always love chef Gabriel’s exquisite lobster squid ink pasta better…this the best we had anywhere!
the venison was excellent though not quite fair comparison with ohmi wagyu…but it was really best in its own right…
& the mocha pan cotta…chef Gabriel’s dessert – every single one is good!
& his Galician octopus, one of the best there is!

had family dinner only sumin not available bought 南乳suckling pig from huat kee on 24.9.2021.^^
..$238 nett inc 2 bottles hao’s xo abalone sauce..or $198+GST..
I messaged hao rgds their web orders $28.80+ per bottle & they confirmed the price & weight ..
so decided to try since huat kee’s deal $26 for 2 bottles..anyway will try later
suckling pig was good very crispy..marinade different from imperial treasure..
maybe I like imperial treasure more
I made usual 白斩鸡chicken rice, tofu prawns plus Thai basil lala..
aunty bes cooked sambal sweet potato leaves..
wen yu brought 400g+ A4 wagyu from meat lovers… $46 really great offer,
& he cooked the nicest wagyu steak..
afterwards we had cheese board & tawny port..& ervin brought desserts…

visited daughter & she ordered in dinner from canchita, Peruvian restaurant at dempsey on 23.9.2021.^^
surprisingly good was really good quite excellent!
sumin ordered the 4 dishes $68 bundle & added $32 octopus and $22 chicken the octopus was best!
excellently done as good as any we had..
chicken was very good very tenderthe
$68 bundle was really value for money..
ceviche very good,
fish soup was good too.
fried rice very good and I liked the light coconut dessert..
can definitely order again..

really shiok!
very easy to make.
just boil stringy hk noodles.
add to bowl to 1tsp each of fish sauce, oyster sauce, tomato ketchup, and 2tsp vinegar, oil and 1 tbsp crispy chilli, and toss.
add large prawns…I grilled…if want to have soup, then just boil prawns in chicken stock.
garnish with spring onions and fried shallots.

8-course dinner no amuse bouche was $280pax & did not include gohan dish so we ordered the recommended donburi at $55 to share..
including 2 sake dinner came to $819 for 2pax.
dishes good standard not really extraordinary so for me not worth the steep price.
first dish gomatofu with uni, ikura, dashi jelly was exquisite enough..excellent presentation, texture & taste..
second dish trio-angler liver a bit plain, sanma was tasty, and wagyu carpaccio wrapped over grilled taro very good
3rd dish hay smoked bonito was very good too..hay smoke was great for presentation not much flavour in fish..the sauce which similar to beurre blanc sauce was tasty & dish overall quite delicious.
4th dish awabi with somen on abalone liver sauce very good too.
5th dish shirako nabe with yuba was wonderful tasting..
wife had hotate to replace shirako which I don’t mind also not my favourite.
6th amadai tile fish with scales was very good too..
7th dish charcoal grilled sumiyaki Kagoshima A5 wagyu was the best dish..excellent marbling & really shiok!
8 the 2 desserts were good standard
the donburi $55 came with choice of grilled wagyu, wagyu tartar, iwashi, oysters or ikura..
we picked wagyu tartar..excellent choice really delicious & quite enough to share for 2pax
overall omakase very good standard, most dishes good ingredients quite delicious more of plain lighter palate and certainly fine in plating & taste..
not really wowed.. nothing to complain in terms of quality just for me not worth the steep price..
more satisfaction at kuriya dining omakase lunch and 8picure..

the 酸菜鱼is nice and value for money set price…though I always prefer the mala 重庆烤鱼. the side dishes were all great dishes, delicious….
