after enjoyable walks at cape cornwall & botallack mines followed by a really scrumptious lunch at the gurnard’s head, we decided to have a light dinner on 10.5.2015.^^
mackerel sky penzance was closed for dinner on sunday, so we decided to try the new mackerel sky seafood bar at newlyn (we saw the place when having dinner at tolcarne inn last evening. 🙂
according to their website, the seafood bar was only open on 1.5.2015. 🙂
we found a convenient parking lot (1 hr free) just facing the restaurant across a small stream.
it was 8pm & still bright outside. 🙂
there were like 3 tables including ourselves the whole time we were there.
we ordered just 2 small plates & a salad.
salad was great, refreshing, just cherry tomatoes, some diced tomatoes, mesclun, balsamic cream etc. 🙂
£6.50 salt & pepper calamari aioli is a popular dish, and it was good, nice batter, squid not tough, taste great.^^
mussels was great too, very tasty sauce (wine, butter, lots of onions lightly caramelised).
after that we ordered 1 flat white. that was the best i had so far during this trip, i think equal or better than monmouth, & better than the one i had at sennen cove. so we ordered a second cup.^^
very light dinner, and cost very little. very nice pleasant ambience.
we enjoyed it very much, for a light bite that is.
