best dish for me…hotaruika briefly squid..most authentic like any other jap restaurant also seasonal…

the prawn also good…big not very sweet not sure if akaebi or not…certainly worth the price..

toro not much good…no much taste…likewise shiroco not much like what it should be…sweet and creamy…

great lunch with RI bros..

after lunch wai sing bought kopi at yakun B1..and 3 os us stayed till 3pm+ after wai sing got back to work..

had a wonderful evening 6pax dinner with leng khiang, swee hong, philip, jo & Lisa @ 8picure on 24.8.2022.^^

Lisa and I always enjoyed 8picure dishes. came here for family dinners for several years now including takeouts and dining during covid lockdowns and restrictions. chef Gabriel lee most deserving of support.

I ordered combination of sets and alacarte dishes so our friends could taste most of chef Gabriel’s delicious dishes including the amazing desserts.

gabriel offered spicy tuna crackers as amuse bouche.

this perhaps the least existing dish..it’s complimentary and perhaps ok to try for first time.

friends all loved the crab cake, a fusion take of Singapore chilli crab…it was good indeed!

the hamachi tartar was a bit plain? maybe to taste natural sashimi sweetness….

grilled octopus very good as always, very tender and consistent texture, and great with chickpea puree..could do with more bbq charred flavours..

friends all loved the truffle fungi risotto with foie gras..this certainly a wonderful dish to share.

we had 3 lobster squidink pasta to share among 6pax. this my favourite dish here. lobster done very well, fresh and sweet, and pasta with lobster bisque ratatouille sauce excellent as always…only that recently I enjoyed hoang hau’s lobster bun a few times..and that is something else altogether…so very tasty with the lobster tomalley sauce very well infused with the beehoon…I think the best lobster dish anywhere…

the cod and herb crusted rack of lamb were all superb dishes.

& so was the dessert…tiramisu the best I had anywhere including my own, and the coconut pannacotta with passion fruit and roasted pineapples superb too.

a really enjoyable chilled dinner with good friends..

haven’t taken pig organ soup for really long time.

soup was tasty sweet & ingredients & quantity good for $4.50

salted fish minced pork was good standard

big intestine was good too.

vinegar trotters was poor/mediocre..meat too soft overcooked & no fragrant vinegar taste

best dish was the ter Huan Giam chye pig organ soup.

I can just do $6.50 soup haha lol! w/o the rest mediocre stuff…

afterwards had good coffee at jln berseh fc.

quite below expectations from watching dr leslie tay video

kong bak pao was ok quite flavourful braise pork

生煎包below expectations not enough soup & quite hard

小笼包was better meat & soup very tasty but the second piece much better than the first so some problems with consistency

pork fritters was nice

did not have 醉鸡

spring roll turn out to be the best dish..very sweet tasty fillings very crispy skin and tender fillings

egg was good too not sure worth $10.75

the 2 handmade noodles were good the

braised beef better than pork

overall nothing great & quite expensive S$93 for the type of food we had

wanted to try alacarte buffet but gave up too difficult as servers no time to reply to any enquiry

ordered alacarte luckily dishes were great but too expensive.

the truffle mushroom soup very flavourful. kale soup also good.

suresh recommended brown rice & satay both were great!.also ordered maps tofu quite unique crisp outside soft inside and nice dip on the side. the wrap was good too, vegetarian Peking duck…lol!

still we had enjoyable lunch together.

pho was ok but missing the essential flavour of thai basil

was a wonderful dinner

2 course set lunch $62 & 3 course $78.

eggplant caviar & grilled leeks both very good..

beef provencale very well done as best a braised beef can be..not my favourite dish but not much choice

beef tartar was excellent one of the best very sweet & tasty a bit vinegary..

pigeon was excellent too

dessert were pretty good..I like the apple crumble best…

great dishes if not really my favourite dishes & too expensive for the dishes

I enjoy set lunch better at spago or la tapiera
