$16 mullet no scales! so cannot lift up skin got to tear..the most precious parts fish fats omega 3 removed!

flesh is soft & marshy not firm cos not chilled, not fraction as nice as my own chilled mullet $5

veg – tofu dish best, sweet tasty..eggplant & tai kee dish good..lala ok..cabbage, broccoli so so.. lady fingers poor…

• 1 cold crab $60 good but a bit expensive
• & signature medium sambal crayfish very good fresh & sweet & great sambal sauce

the set includes 4-item platter all good ter kar tan, hae chor fried tofu fake sharksfin etc

& whole large teochew steamed pomfret good

worse item was soup didn’t have chicken soup replaced by a tofu soup

pork ribs non descript

fried teochew chai por kuay teow good

garlic steamed scallops tanhoon very good

had 3pax lunch with philip & leng khiang at my favourite chirashi don place Ishinomaki on 14.6.2022.^^

the premium chirashi don excellent here, S$39 lunch set inc chawanmushi, salad & miso soup. the alacarte dinner chirashi don basically same serving is S$60 standalone item…

there are about 15 cuts including uni, chutoro, hamachi, hirame, sawara, kajiki, salmon, majuro, ikura, tamago etc…only things missing are anago & botanebi (which Mikuni serves)..they should consider having these serving options and increase the price accordingly…

the sushi rice also very tasty…I take very little carbs..the rice serving is small..still sometime I asked for 1/2 rice serving.. usually I will still finish the rice…

kia hiang’s claypot chicken always so good..have not take for like 30 years…maybe…haha!

cabbage so infused with stock…very tasty gravy and chicken sweet, falling off the bones, tender and not dry or sinewy..will try to make this..

poached garoupa fillet lots of ginger and browned garlic…again great wokhae very good stock..this also I will make at home..

tofu very tasty crisp outside tender inside…

crabmeat egg white hk kailan good too…I will also make this..

a very nice relaxing dinner…great evening with wai mun & jessie..

Linda baked the chocolate tart and kueh bingo ubi..very nice indeed! 🙂

• bbq sotong always good,
• claypot live soon hock expensive but nice not really better than hk steamed but a different preparation,
• bbq honey ribs was really good falling off the bones but not sinewy with residue..& very tasty flavours..
• lala white beehoon & 3 eggs spinach good too👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

excellent signature dishes-bbq sotong, claypot live soon hock, bbq honey ribs, lala white beehoon & 3 eggs spinach first time colin and wai sing come here..we all enjoy the dishes and wonderful time together.
