had 5pax family lunch @ bayswater kitchen keppel island on 16.1.2022.^^

unfortunately no alacarte buffet today which was on website & which we came for..so rather disappointing..

food was ok..

pot of mussels & clams just right texture & sauce very tasty $25

vongole sauce ok tasty too..just don’t have much EVO clams white wine flavours

chef seafood platter too ex at $90..basically just smaller portion of $25 clams & mussels add 4 prawns, calamari, 1 soft shell crab, a few battered cod ..then become $90???

fish & chips pretty good

bounty bar so so coconut sorbet not flavourful wife’s chocolate tart far better

ambience great by the marina not much decor service quite ok

food standard average for the price not worth it without weekend alacart buffet…

food was great & service too. $23.80pax alacarte buffet..

crispy 油浸金目鲈 best, very good this time we asked for more hk steamed sauce and senior citizen (like us) server very obliging..assam patin was good all my friends liked it…and we ordered the chopped chilli fish head 剁椒鱼头very good too.

the sharkskin was good standard, very tasty broth…

whelk with pickles good, salted egg fish skin competent…

& iberico char siew (one serving only) the bestest!

herbal prawns very good too..

and the prawn paste chicken very competent…salted egg prawns less so…ok…

& this time I ordered the fermented tofu belly pork which was also very good…

fblack bean sauce scallops with bittergourd, 流沙包，豆沙锅饼

$150 for 5pax..carpark was $10.50 luckily we got free carpark…:-)

first time doing a baked whole salmon trout on 2.1.2022.^

dish was excellent..everyone loved it..

recipe

1. 1clean..make cuts on fish, put in sliced garlic & small sliced lemon..add 4 thin sliced lemon in belly & one in head
2. line sliced lemon, sliced potato, sliced zucchini as a bed in baking dish..place trout & add cherry tomatoes
3. sprinkle sea salt & black pepper generously…add mixed herbs, rosemary, 1 tbsp balsamic, 4 tbsp EVO, and 15g sliced butter ..squeeze lemon juice from 1/3 lemon
4. baked in 250degC oven 25mins
5. serve with dill

buffet was $28 for seniors(normal $36)

we added another $8 for unlimited drinks, plus dessert & a wider choice of soup base.

the steamboat buffet ok average for me with the senior discounts…

Mei Mei had the charcuterie; & poulette (chicken)main course.

eng hai had grilled octopus; and king salmon main course …

wife and I had the grilled octopus; and lamb leg and iberico pork as main course.

wife had churros I had pavlova, eng hai had ice cream and Mei Mei had churros …

food here the best, great company, conversation & time together

wagyu beef cubes a bit tough not the best

garoupa fish & chips very good just that $35 just small piece of garoupa fillet

hokkien noodles $26 very good very tasty broth and good ingredients- fresh prawns, on shell scallops ..sambal excellent

nasi campur $28 good too..rice, sambal, rendang excellent, otah good, chicken, okra, achar ok…

poorest dish was wagyu cubes..some pieces quite tough salad & dressing good

ambience was the best

we had a really enjoyable time..will come back
