Guard the Original Heart

life’s encounters are numerous, and the path complex
fate interlace, threads of connection entwine
with the passing of spring flowers and autumn moon, people scatter and drift away
leaving beautiful memories in the heart to stay

worldly affairs are a maze of criss-cross, the way is intricate and complex
the threads of destiny connect like the intertwined fibres of lotus stems
sun and moon interweave, standing alone by the railing
reminiscing this affection amidst the dust of time

the sunset hues paint the sky
the curtain of night gradually rises
sentiments are primed for expression
fondness and longing define this moment
seeking a place that belongs solely to oneself
in one’s own tranquility
letting thoughts roam free
in the vastness of the starry moonlit sky

strolling by the lake
lost in thought alone on the bridge
evening breeze brushes the heart’s door
tonight, where do the lingering thoughts lie
thinking of past days with you
drinking together by the lake and river
letting ideals and aspirations permeate
in the shimmering lake and our reflections

in the beauty of a spring night and sweet wine, the beauty and emotions of the moment is boundless
lying under the moon and stars, in intoxicated slumber together
though time slips away, we guard our original heart
the bond of fate is enduring, affection never parts

in the quietness of autumn night, tranquility lingers
moonlight reflects on the lake, illuminating two figures
the coming together and apart in human affairs are unpredictable
