Cherry Blossoms

Miyajima is located in Hiroshima Bay
nature scenic beauty of mountains and sea
historical temples and ancient halls of worship
shrines, old streets, and delicious food tasting
spectacular and sacred great torii gate
one of Japan’s three famous sights
brisk hike up the mountain, feeling invigorated and refreshed
looking over the sea views, feeling relaxed and content

flowers bloom in march bringing forth the colours of spring
yamazakura, shidare zakura(weeping cherry blossoms), and yaezakura
snow-white and pink colour the painting scroll
the beauty of youth is momentary, affection endures
gazing afar at the islands, a sea of pink flowers
up close, mountain covered in a blanket of white
yamazakura floating like white snow in the plains
weeping cherry blossoms sway gracefully red

cherry blossoms bloom and the path of life
spring colors are fleeting, life journey is long
strolling along path in the park
the spring breeze softly brushes the face carrying a fragrant scent
